The Minneapolis Athenaeum
The Minneapolis Athenaeum is Minnesota's oldest existing non profit corporation. How the Athenaeum has survived all these years is an account not only of the efforts of dedicated individuals and the determination of its members but also of a Minnesota community's desire to acquire and preserve rare and valuable books. The exciting past of this fine organization can be viewed on the "history" page on this website. The term "Athenaeum" is defined as: An institution, such as a literary club or scientific academy, for the promotion of learning. A place, such as a library, where printed materials are available for reading.
